LeakMaster recommends annual calibration of our leak testing instruments to maintain the most accurate and precise pressure and flow measurements.  The actual recalibration interval is typically determined by the end user’s Quality System.  This can be accomplished by any of the following methods.

Instrument Calibration

Onsite Calibration

LeakMaster can provide a service technician to your facility and perform an onsite calibration of your leak testing instruments.  This service consists of zeroing and spanning multiple points throughout the pressure range of the pressure transducer or flow sensors installed in the units.   This is typically recommended if you have more than five units at one location.  The more units that you have, the more cost effective an onsite calibration is.  LeakMaster only performs calibrations on LeakMaster leak testing instruments.

Factory Calibration

You can send your LeakMaster leak test instruments to our factory and we perform an instrument calibration at our facility.  This service consists of zeroing and spanning multiple points throughout the pressure range of the pressure transducer or flow sensors installed in the units.   We then return the unit back to the customer.  We typically recalibrate and ship units that are received back out within 1-2 business days.  With shipping time, you can usually have your leak test unit back in 5 business days or less (depending on the shipping priority).  This method is most cost effective if you have four or fewer units in a particular facility.  This option is only a viable option if you can pull the instrument from production or if you have a spare unit to put in place while your instrument is out being calibrated.  LeakMaster only performs calibrations on LeakMaster leak testing instruments.

In House Calibration Self Calibration

The customer can recalibrate the units themselves.  To calibrate using this method, the customer will need an NIST traceable precision pressure gauge (for pressure decay or mass flow units) and flow meter (for mass flow units only).  The recalibration procedure is documented in our service manuals and LeakMaster gives the customer the ability to annually calibrate their own units.  This is typically recommended when an end user has 20 or more leak testing instruments in a single location.
